In South Korea, waste is categorized.
FROM 2003 year, the South Korean government demanded to collect bail from 50 to 100 get out of all disposable cups, sold in restaurants, to guarantee, that they will be returned for recycling. In this way, products (eg, drinks and ice cream), intended for use in the store, served in reusable plastic containers ; or if a customer buys their product in a disposable cup and pays a deposit, he can get a refund of the deposit, if you return an empty cup to the counter staff. According to the recycling law, cup utilization rate was 14 percent in 2003 year, 22 percent in 2004 year and 25 percent in 2005 year. Since then this law has been repealed.
Seoul City Government Requires Compulsory Waste Sorting, while food, recyclable materials and general waste should be separated from each other. In this way, all Lotteria restaurants have special containers (for liquids, paper, uneaten food, plastic and other general waste). Besides, Lotteria also charges between 50 to 100 over the bags, which is the norm for most Western-style stores and other shopping malls in South Korea.
